Please join Safe Out for safeTALK, a half-day alertness training that prepares anyone over the age of 15, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they invite help to stay alive. safeTALK-trained helpers can recognize these invitations and take action by connecting them with life-saving intervention resources.

While safeTALK is an approach that benefits the larger community, this particular training will have an emphasis on the needs, care, and supports within the LGBTQ community. Through this training you will become a resource within the community to help identify and support those who are experiencing thoughts of suicide and help connect them to the care they need.

If you are unable to make this training, there will be more to follow throughout the year. For any questions, please contact jason.vailcruz@terros.org or isaac.akapnitis@terros.org.

The event is free, but an RSVP is required due to class size limitations. Please see above Eventbrite link to register. Thanks!
